Lloydminster RCMP arrest two for stolen vehicle

The Lloydminster RCMP have arrested two people in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation.

Around 6PM February 23rd, police were out on patrol when they saw a vehicle that had been allegedly stolen in the Kitscoty area.

Police arrested the female driver and a male passenger as they stopped at an 18th Street business. The vehicle was towed to have an RCMP forensic examination conducted.

In connection with the theft, 37-year-old Leyen Meesto of Lloydminster and 23-year-old Shaylean Dillon, 23 of Saskatoon have been charged.

Dillion is facing Possession of Property obtained by crime and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose charges, along with driving while prohibited and resisting or obstructing a Peace Officer.

She has been released on a release order and will appear in Lloydminster Saskatchewan Provincial Court on March 23rd.

Meesto has been charged with these same charges, along with two counts of failure to comply with a release order and one count of not complying with a probation order.

He has been remained into custody and will be appearing in Alberta Provincial Court in Lloydminster on March 2nd.
