With spring cleaning and yard sale season coming along with it, the City is issuing some safety advice under the Saskatchewan Government’s guidelines.
While the City says both yard and garage sales are okay, both sellers and buyers are asked to follow COVID-19 safety guidelines as outlined by the SHA.
For sellers, they’re told to hold these sales outside or at the very least in a well-vented area like a garage. They should also make sure physical distancing is happening, their hands are frequently washed and have hand sanitiser on hand at all times.
They should also wash up whenever handling money or take cashless payment when possible, make sure all items are laundered, washed or sanitized before selling and don’t provide food or drink, for sale or complementary.
Neither buyers nor sellers should host or go to an event if they’re feeling sick, and both should make sure gathering numbers are at or lower than the public health order allotes.
Buyers should visit individually and should avoid handling merchandise unless they want it, cleaning it when they get it home. In the case that a buyer is picking a purchase up later, both parties should continue following health rules at that time as well.
Garage sales were previously given the go-ahead by the Saskatchewan Government back in July of 2020.
