Edmonton Police arrest wanted Lloydminster man

A Lloydminster man wanted on an attempted murder charge is headed back to Meadow Lake to stand trial.

Christopher Nolan, 21, was arrested by the Edmonton Police Service, accused in connection with a January 4th shooting in the Meadow Lake area. Police believe that the shooting was gang-related. He has been charged with alleged attempted murder and aggravated assault.

At the time and same place of the arrest, two other suspects from the Meadow Lake area were arrested, one based on charges stemming from an April 13th incident and the other from an incident on April 26th.

Inspector Murray Chamberlin, the RCMP North District Operations Officer, said in a statement that the January 4th and April 13th incidents are believed to be gang-related and possibly using illegal firearms. He adds that this was one step toward stemming gang activity in the Meadow Lake area, but it certainly won’t be the last.

All the suspects, including Nolan, remain in custody awaiting court appearances. The investigation is ongoing by the Saskatchewan RCMP and EPS.
