Saskatchewan announces full vaccine eligbilty by May 20th

The Saskatchewan Government says the option for all residents to get their first COVID-19 vaccine will be in place by the 20th of May, barring any delays.

The province announced a tiered rollout over the next two weeks, beginning on the 8th. On that day, people 32 and older can get there shot. After that, the list goes as follows:

  • May 10th: Vaccinations open to those aged 29 and older
  • May 12th: Open to ages 26 and older
  • May 14th: Open to ages 23 and older
  • May 16th: Open to ages 20 and older
  • May 18th: Open to ages 16 and older
  • May 20th: All people over the age of 12 can get a vaccine.

The province says this is contingent on vaccine supply, and as such, they schedule may need adjusted if shipments are delayed.

When its announced that an age group can get their vaccine, it will be open at drive thrus, in booked appointments, at walk in clinics or via participating pharmacies.

When the vaccines open for teens, they will only be offered the Pfizer brand, which has been approved for their use. Administration may occur in school-based programs, pharmacies, or SHA clinics before the end of the school year. More details will be announced on the 20th.

This schedule is only for first doses, as the dates for second doses begin with people over 85 on May 17th. There will be public notifications of when each age group will be eligible to receive their second dose.
