Domino’s Pizza is serving a slice for COVID-19 relief in India

Lloydminster Domino’s Pizza is on board with a nation-wide promotion to bring COVID-19 relief to India. Tuesday May 25th will see all franchisees across Canada aiming to raise at least $100,000.

India has a population of more than 1.3 billion people. The fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic is depleting the country’s medical resources and each day is bringing more record numbers of new cases, hospitalizations, and deaths.

The human cost is being felt by Indo-Canadians with over 1 million Canadians having family ties to the Asian country.

Local Domino’s franchisee, Akshay Naik is always pitching in for community causes and is supporting this venture.

“The goal from this is to generate more than $100,000 and Domino’s corporate will match those numbers. So every medium or large pizza we sell on that particular day, we will donate one dollar from every pizza.”

Naik is grateful to the community generosity in the past as just recently he teamed up with 4th Meridian Brewery for a local fund raiser for the upcoming Bikes for Breakfast YLL.

“I am involved in so many fundraising activities here in town. So being a part of the community, we are like a small world now. we are all in this together, so we have to help.”

Anyone wishing to make their own personal financial contribution will also be able to do so on the Domino’s website.

The funds will go directly to the Canadian Red Cross India COVID-19 Response Appeal.
