The Prairie North Health Region has announced an expansion to the renal dialysis service at Battlefords Union Hospital in North Battleford.
In a release issued yesterday, the PNHR says patients will soon have greater access to this life-sustaining care thanks to the increase from 6 chairs to 9. Starting in the summer, an extra 12 patients per week will be able to receive dialysis at the relocated and expanded BUH Renal Dialysis Satellite Unit.
The Ministry of Health has approved $600,000Â in capital funding to accommodate the program growth.
