The City of Lloydminster has updated the dangerous goods truck routes for vehicles exceeding 7,500 kg and/or transporting materials of a dangerous nature.
Council passed the amendments to the Traffic Bylaw and Transportation Systems Bylaw on June 7. The new laws took effect on June 8.
The highlights include:
Amended dangerous goods routes
-Refer to Schedule “E” of the Traffic Bylaw (Bylaw No. 05-2021)
Amended truck routes
-Refer to Schedule “D” of the Traffic Bylaw (Bylaw No. 05-2021)
-Revisions to parking semi-trucks and trailers in residential areas (and associated penalties)
-Refer to sections 8.14 through 8.16 of the Traffic Bylaw (Bylaw No. 05-2021)
-The restriction of use of an engine brake or Jake brake within city limits (and associated penalties)
-Refer to Section 5.17 of the Traffic Bylaw (Bylaw No. 05-2021)
