Lloyd Comp serves off Summer volleyball camp

As in person events ramp up in the Summer, vacation camps and sport camps are back on stream.

The volleyball fraternity at Lloydminster Comprehensive High School is playing host to the Baron’s Volleyball Camp, August 16-18.

V.P. at Lloyd Comp and Volleyball Head Coach Douglas Smith says kids are signed up from several grades.

“Right now we have about 40 athletes signed up. Kids going into Grade 6 all the way to Grade 12. I’m hoping for about that 70 mark. That will be a perfect number to cohort them up and get some volleyball playing.”

Registration will stay open until the first day of the camp. A couple University of Saskatchewan alumni coaches will be running the camp. Fees are $150.

“So we have Kale Little, he’s an alumni with the U of S Huskies. He played there for a lot of years. He will bring up another University player to help him. As well, one of our coaches is actually his sister, Kelci Little will also be helping.”

Once camp is over, the Baron’s Boys Volleyball team will be prepping for the season with first practice planned for September 1, when school resumes. The season includes a home tournament in October and then in November they will be hosting the Saskatchewan 5A Regionals aiming to qualify for the Saskatoon Finals, November 19-20.

More details on the Volleyball Camp can be found online.
