Lloydminster’s recreation facilities changing rules as COVID restrictions ease

Lloydminster residents are getting an insight into what their local recreation facilities will look like as the city enters the post-pandemic mode.

With all of Lloydminster joining the rest of Saskatchewan on their plan to end COVID-19 restrictions on Sunday, July 11th, it will mean a return to normal at places like the Bioclean Aquatic Centre, Outdoor Pool, Servus Sports Centre and Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre.

For both swimming facilities, prepayment is required, and membership can be used to book online. Public or family swimming can be booked online up to two days in advance, with refunds being given if someone cancels 24 hours before their time.

Drop-ins will be allowed on a first come first serve basis, and booking times will be limited online to make space for walk-ins. The tot pool at the outdoor pool will not need pre-booking.

Meanwhile, pre-booking will not be required for field house drop-in programs, the fitness centre, or the Agland Fitness Track at the Servus Sports Centre anymore.

Memberships will reactivate automatically when someone arrives, and anyone not wanting to use the facilities anymore should cancel before September 1st, 2021, otherwise it will automatically renew.

In the case of the Bioclean Aquatic Centre memberships, they will also automatically reactivate when someone comes back, and residents have until October 1st 2021 until memberships automatically renew.

At the Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre, people will still have the option to book, up to seven days in advance of play.

Masking will not be required at any of these facilities going forward after July 11th, but people will still have the option to wear one if it makes them comfortable or based on their risk assessment.

Booking details for these facilities can be found on their respective pages of the City of Lloydminster website.
