Battlefords RCMP charge three with firearms offenses

The Battlefords RCMP have charged three people with firearms offences after an arrest Thursday afternoon.

On July 29th, the North Battleford Gang Task Force came upon an allegedly stolen vehicle on 109th Street. The people inside were arrested, and during a search, police allegedly seized illegally modified guns, ammo, cocaine and methamphetamine.

Two of the suspects, 24-year-old Kane Nicotine and 21-year-old Talia Bear, have been charged with alleged possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, breach of release order, and multiple firearms offences. Nicotine has also been accused of breach of probation.

Another person, a youth who cannot be named under the Youth Justice Act, has been charged with possession of cocaine and meth for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and multiple firearms offences.

All three suspects will appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on August 3rd.
