The Redcliff RCMP says a Lloydminster woman has passed away after a car accident last Saturday.
On August 7th around 6:30 AM, officers, Cypress County Fire Services and EMS responded to the accident, which happened west of Redcliff on Highway 1 near Highway 524.
A preliminary investigation by the RCMP collision analyst found an eastbound car clipped a pickup truck while trying to pass it.
This caused the driver of the car to lose control, rolling into the south ditch several times. The driver, the 35-year Lloydminster woman, passed away on the scene after being ejected from the car. The passenger, an 18-year-old Brooks man, was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver and the lone person inside of the pickup, a 60-year-old man from Winnipeg, was left with non-life-threatening injuries, for which he received medical treatment as well.
The Redcliff RCMP says the investigation is ongoing, however, the name of the deceased will not be released.
