The members for the Downtown Area Redevelopment Committee will be finalized at Council next Monday August 23.
This after the terms of reference were approved on July 19 and the call went out for people to serve on the committee.
Mayor Gerald Aalbers says Council received the update at Monday’s GPC meeting and will be making a decision at the next Council sitting.
“A good selection of people have submitted applications to the City for joining the Downtown Area Redevelopment Committee to help give direction to the City. A lot of work has already started for the planning. Now we get down to the implementation and finding the money at City Council.”
Aalbers is looking forward to the work of the Committee as they will get the ball rolling on the vision contained in the Downtown Area Redevelopment Plan.
“I think it’s going to be an exciting time for the next year or two with that committee. I want to thank everyone that put their name forward.”
Administration will bring the names to Council for the final vote on who will serve on the Committee.
