Lloydminster COVID testing site to move to referral only on Sept. 30th

Lloydminster’s COVID-19 testing site will be relocating and only offering tests by referral only.

Starting at 4PM on September 30th, the new location will no longer accommodate drive thru testing. Instead, people seeking a COVID-19 test should call 1-877-800-0002 and a test will be arranged. This testing is open for Alberta and Saskatchewan residents.

Currently, testing is being prioritized for symptomatic people, the SHA adds. They advise anyone who is symptomatic, even if they are mild, to get tested. Symptoms of COVID-19 include:

  • fever
  • cough
  • headache
  • muscle and/or joint aches and pains
  • sore throat
  • chills
  • runny nose
  • nasal congestion
  • conjunctivitis
  • dizziness
  • fatigue
  • nausea/vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • loss of appetite (difficulty feeding for children)
  • loss of sense of taste or smell
  • shortness of breath
  • difficulty breathing

If someone gets a negative result, but symptoms continue, they should also arrange to be retested, the health official adds.

The SHA also notes that getting tested is an important step to protect a person and those around them.
