Gazebo serving Martin Browne area

Made from 100 per cent recycled plastics, a new gazebo in the Martin Browne neighbourhood is now available to residents.

As MyLloydminsterNow reported in October, Jason Arden and Associates Ltd. – Co-operators, along with artist Brandi Hofer teamed up with the City for the green space.

Using 11,248 plastic bottles the City says the new gazebo will become a permanent neighbourhood fixture as the area redevelopment plan unfolds.

Mayor Gerald Aalbers commended Jason Arden and Associates for their support and looked forward to more collaborative efforts with local businesses to foster community development.

Artist Brandi Hofer is happy to share her artwork in the new community recreation space.

“Our community’s parks and green spaces are destinations for us to spend time in and take pause to appreciate all that the outdoors have to offer. The mural that accompanies the gazebo represents us practising inclusivity, generosity and compassion for one another. It represents the outdoors where we play, dance and build friendships.”

For the winter months, the new gazebo is being used as a skate shack for the nearby outdoor rink that is being completed. In the warmer months it will serve as a rest area for the basketball court and other public amenities.
