Cocaine, meth seized after traffic stop in Onion Lake

Onion Lake RCMP have confiscated suspected cocaine and meth following a traffic stop for an ATV that had been reported as stolen.

On Monday November 29th, police say they stopped the vehicle, however the man driving it allegedly provided false identification information and refused to comply with officers. After a brief altercation with officers, the man was arrested. No serious injuries were sustained during the arrest and all involved received medical assessment.

Officers found and seized about 25 grams of suspected cocaine, divided into 25 packages, 180 grams of methamphetamine, 68 codeine tablets, three cellular phones and a large sum of Canadian currency.

Philip Heathen (DOB: 1983-08-02) from Onion Lake has been charged with suspected Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Codeine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5000, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000, Resist a Peace Officer, Obstruct a Peace Officer, Personate with Intent to Avoid Arrest, Assault a Peace Officer, Fail to Comply with Release Order and Operate a Conveyance while Prohibited.

On Tuesday November 30th, Philip Heathen made his first court appearance via telephone in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan Provincial Court at 11:00 a.m.
