Mobile mammography service in Vermilion mid-December

Women ages 50 to 74, the group most at risk of developing breast cancer, will have access to mammography services this month when Alberta Health Services’ Screen Test program visits Vermilion.

From December 15th to 18th, then December 20th and 21st, a mobile mammography trailer will be at Vermilion Seniors’ Centre, 5324 – 50 Avenue. Residents can book an appointment or learn more about the program by calling toll-free 1-800-667-0604.

AHS says a mammogram which is an X-ray of the breast has proven to be the most effective way to detect breast cancer. They add that early detection allows for more treatment options and a better chance of survival.

Staff will share COVID-19 precaution details when residents call to book appointments.

More information and a complete listing of Screen Test mobile sites can be found on the AHS website.
