The local elementary school was placed on a hold and secure status as police searched the Frog Lake area Monday afternoon.
Residents noted a heavy police presence which Alberta RCMP advised was due to the ongoing search for suspects from a stolen vehicle following a break and enter.
RCMP say the vehicle with the suspects had failed to stop for the officers and headed into the Frog Lake area. Police indicated the suspects may be armed.
Officials have asked that the public refrain from posting photos and video on social media.
The police investigation is ongoing.
