Over 15 million rapid tests given out in Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan health officials are saying that more than 15 million rapid antigen testing kits have been given out across the province.

This tally includes over seven million to public distribution centres, two million to schools and 1.5 million to Indigenous Services Canada and the Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority.

Officials are expecting another four million tests to arrive in the province this month.

Free rapid antigen tests are available at about 600 locations at this time, including four in Lloydminster. Those places are listed as Lloydminster COVID Test and Assessment Site at 2913 50 Avenue, Lloydminster Chamber of Commerce, Gold Horse Casino and the Lloydminster Public Library in the LloydMall.

Health officials are encouraging everyone to self-monitor, self-test and self-manage to help prevent COVID-19 transmission, especially with the transmissibility of the Omicron variant.
