Schools in Lloydminster are advising parents of changes affecting their children as Saskatchewan health officials have announced Tuesday that proof of vaccination requirements will be removed Monday February 14th.

In a joint letter to parents from the Lloydminster Public School Division and the Lloydminster Catholic School Division, educators are noting a phased approach starting with the end of proof of vaccination and as well the removal of the public health order mask requirement in schools and buses from March 1st.

The divisions say they will support a mask friendly environment at all their facilities and on buses.

School officials indicate their continued support for families and staff in the education process and will persist with enhanced cleaning procedures. Also, to ensure that when students are ill, that they stay at home.

The school divisions note that this week is teacher appreciation week and schools are celebrating the efforts of staff to safely educate students. They hope that parents will join with them in recognizing all that teachers and staff have achieved this year.
