Twelve RCMP Detachments including Provost and St. Paul will conclude the six-month pilot for online criminal record checks on March 6th.
RCMP officials say online access of services is a goal, but in this instance, the platform became a complex undertaking for the detachments and would not have been efficiently expanded throughout the province. They add there were key technical and logistical insights that will prove useful in the future, as they explore more user- friendly options to benefit Albertans.
To obtain a criminal record check, the public may visit their local detachment or visit the RCMP website for more information.
The online platform is still active until Sunday for residents in the 12 detachments only.
