Muslim women’s group hosts online forum for justice

With International Women’s Day being observed March 8th, the Prairie chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Women’s Association is hosting a virtual interfaith symposium themed, ‘Justice in an unjust World.’

Media spokesperson Maham Ana Malik is looking at the increasing uncertainty and global unrest as their rationale.

“Especially with Ukraine. It’s so much that everyone is going through, especially Canadian Ukrainians and their and how we can help them and how we can empower one another and bring about justice and support one another.”

Malik says their organization seeks to show support to anyone in crisis and distress by highlighting the voices of women who promote peace, tolerance and compassion for all.

“So we thought that this topic is a very relevant topic in the times right now, and to have a program that caters to that would be absolutely ideal.”

The speakers are four women representing a diverse faith background and professional expertise.

Malik indicates that they aim to build connections with shared respect and mutual understanding, regardless of race, religion, creed or color.

Anyone wishing to participate can register for the free virtual session Sunday March 6th on EventBrite from 4 p.m.
