Sask crop insurance deadline extends to April 14

Federal and Saskatchewan provincial officials have agreed to extend the 2022 Crop Insurance enrolment deadline to April 14th.

Officials say that logistical challenges due to the ongoing supply-chain issues led to a delay in the delivery of the 2022 Crop Insurance packages to producers’ addresses. These challenges arose after the packages left the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC) on February 25th.

As of March 10th, the 2022 Crop Insurance packages have been mailed out and producers can anticipate receiving their packages in their mailboxes over the next few days, according to officials.

SCIC staff are available to assist producers with their Crop Insurance endorsement and coverage details.

Producers can also access and modify their Crop Insurance details directly through SCIC’s online Crop Insurance portal, CropConnect. Producers must select insured crops and coverage levels or make additional changes by April 14th, or coverage will remain the same as the previous year.

More information can be obtained through a local SCIC office or via email: [email protected], or call 1-888-935-0000.
