A fire that took place in Lac La Biche last week is under investigation.
On March 12th, at approximately 12:30am, the Lac La Biche Fire Department, Lac La Biche RCMP and EMS were dispatched to a structure fire in town. When first responders arrived the 24-unit, 3-storey apartment building was already partially engulfed by the flames.
The Fire Department worked quickly to contain the fire, with surrounding buildings remaining undamaged. Occupants of the apartment building were evacuated and accounted for with no injuries reported. There is no damage estimate available at this point.
The Provincial Fire Inspector has been contacted and the fire remains under investigation, however preliminary information indicates the fire is non-suspicious.
