Lloydminster named a Trailblazer

The City of Lloydminster has been recognized as a safety leader.

The City is the recipient of the 2016 Trailblazer Award for safety in the Lakeland Region, handed down by the Alberta Construction Safety Association. Every year, industry peer members of the Association choose an organization that demonstrates leadership in workplace health and safety.

Health, Safety, and Wellness Manager, Megan Coulter, traveled to Calgary on Saturday, March 12th, to accept the award and speak on behalf of the City of Lloydminster.

“Through our regular safety meetings, diligent reporting process and participation in safety-related events, we have created a culture where safety is at the forefront. We thank the Lakeland Regional Safety Committee for the nomination and the ACSA for making us the recipient of this tremendous honour. We also thank our City staff for their dedication to a safe and healthy workplace,” said Coulter.

Lloydminster is the first ever municipality to win the award.
