AB police arrest SK suspect following year-long search

A Saskatchewan suspect who had evaded police since February 2021 has been found in Calgary.

North Battleford RCMP had asked for the public’s help in finding Charmaine Brett Bear from Battleford back in 2021. They had issued a warrant for her arrest for suspicion of failing to provide the necessaries of life and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

Police in February 2022 repeated the call for help to find the woman saying they believed she could be in Lloydminster, North Battleford, Mosquito First Nation and Saskatoon areas.

Officers report that Calgary Police Service arrested the suspect without incident.

Bear is to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court next on May 6th at 9:30 a.m.
