Ten still in hospital following Sunday’s stabbing incident: SHA

While seven people have been released from hospital, the SHA is confirming that 10 people are still receiving medical care following Sunday’s mass stabbing on the James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Saskatchewan Health Authority says two patients are in critical condition and eight are stable. Also, health officials are confirming that no new patients have been admitted to hospital as a result of this incident apart from the initial 17 individuals on Sunday.

The SHA notes that the number of injured reported may vary as they only record admissions to hospitals.

The SHA says they are working with the Prince Albert Grand Council, James Smith Cree Nation and other community partners in the area to offer support.

Anyone affected by this tragedy can call HealthLine 811 for  mental health supports, adds health officials.
