Trestle River Homes is relishing its nomination for the 2022 New Venture accolade with the Achieving Business Excellence (ABEX) Awards, through the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce.
The home-building business is a family partnership between two Lloydminster developers that was incorporated in 2020. Tim Wiebe is from southern Manitoba and ventured to the midwest region when he married Cody Loewen’s sister.
Lowen says so far their work has been around Wainwright, Lloydminster, Paradise Hill and Turtleford areas. They are quite proud of the nomination in their second year of operation.
For their success, Loewen credits his father who was also a finish-carpenter and gave them a leg-up in the business.
“He was a very honest and hard-working person and he was known as such through the community. He paved the road for us and set us up with contacts that we would not have had otherwise. He taught me to work hard and be honest and fair at all times.”
Another aspect that Loewen says has served the young company well is good referrals.
“We happen to get the right customer at the right time and we made this customer happy. He told a lot of his contacts who were at the time looking to build houses and it just blossomed from there.”
Loewen also credits the support of Red Bicycle Communications for their social media presence.
The awards are being handed down in Saskatoon on Nov. 5.
