Motor club revs up for Sunday Summer Send Off

The Lloydminster Motor Club is in final prep for its annual Summer Send Off car show taking place Sunday at the Lloyd Ex.

Now in its eighth season, the motor club show has outgrown some of its early venues. Organizer Randy Marsh says they will be amping with awards this year.

“For the first time ever, we have got awards to give away. There’s going to be a People’s Choice. There’s going to be a Judge’s Choice and there’s going to be a Kids’ Choice. So if you want to bribe your way into winning an award, bribe those kids.”

There will also be an award for the loudest sound system.

The motor club is also having a silent auction as they raise money for the Lloydminster Youth Centre and the Goat’s Christmas Wish.

Marsh revs up on another area where they are being supported.

“The SPCA is coming out. We have actually worked with them once this year so far. Filmwise and Ulmer-Chevrolet are going to come out as well. They are going to be showing off what they do. Ulmer is bringing out some cars to show off as well. We have got a couple food vendors as well and the Lloydminster Exhibition Grill actually has a food special for us called the dragstrip dog.”

Admission is free. Registration of cars is by donation and open to anyone starting at 11 a.m. Organizers are thankful for all the community support. The show goes until 5 p.m.
