Philippines rap artist makes Lloydminster stop

Filipino rapper Andrew E and his crew are touring Canada and will perform at the WLS Convention Centre at the Lloydminster Exhibition on Saturday Sept. 24.

Dubbed as the Godfather of Pinoy Rap, the artiste and his team are already in the city for rehearsals as he teases fans ahead of the Saturday night show.

“Always expect the unexpected. That’s about it. For me the most interesting part is to make sure that the people don’t know what to expect from me, because the best thing is to entertain them and make sure they have a good time.”

He says that unpredictability means the audience never knows what is coming next and what song he is going to deliver.

He has been entertaining for over three-decades and the entourage is fresh from rapping out in Calgary and ready to entertain the fan base in this region. When it comes to writing he tackles things that he does not like.

“I firmly believe that the best songs that you can create or make are songs that the audiences like. Not you. My thinking is I create songs that I would love to think that the audiences and the people will like. So that if I compose it; 100% they will like it already.”

Apart from the rappers from the Philippines, several local performers, including Rafi Jag will also open the show ahead of the main act, according to promoters Maple Shine from Calgary and MapleLloyd Productions. Doors open at 5 p.m.
