Walk across Canada begins Oct. 15 at Servus Sports Centre

It’s an 8,261-kilometre trek if one were to walk from coast to coast across the true north, strong and free. Canadian Natural Resources Limited for a fourth year is encouraging Canadians to cover the distance in their communities by tabulating their combined efforts.

The city of Lloydminster is on board to support an active, healthy lifestyle by providing free, all-ages access to the Agland Fitness Track during the Walk Across Canada from Oct. 15 to Nov. 30.

“Regular activity is an easy way for us all to improve our quality of life by improving our physical and mental health. In the case of Canadian Natural’s Walk Across Canada, it’s also a fun and interactive way to challenge our family, friends and colleagues,” says Joelle Fournier, fitness supervisor with the city.

Wristbands are needed to access the Agland Fitness Track and recreation planners invite residents to check in at the main desk or the fitness desk on the second level of the Servus Sports Centre. To record the distance travelled, advise a visitor service attendant before leaving.
