Highway planners want motorists to include the various highway apps regarding road conditions in their travel plans.
In Saskatchewan, travellers can download the Highway Hotline and for Alberta – it’s 511 Alberta. Both apps are in the App Store and Google Play.
The applications provide information on highway conditions, road closures, construction zones, ferries, border crossings, snowplows, rest areas, as well as cameras to view road conditions.
In Saskatchewan, six new cameras were added earlier this month bringing the total to 47. In Alberta, there are some 300 road cameras with multiple angle views.
When using the application, remember to touch and hold the segment of road for detailed information.
