Man faces a number of charges following domestic assault

Bonnyville RCMP have arrested and charged a St. Paul resident.
On April 8th, 2016 at approximately 11:00 p.m., the Detachment received a 911 call for service regarding a domestic assault. Officers attended a home in Kehewin and through investigation learned that a 24-year-old female had been assaulted by her common law husband, 23 years of age. Her injuries were minor.
The male was known to police and was believed to be wanted on charges out of St. Paul as well.  While police were on-scene the male returned to the residence and provided a false name to police.
The male was later arrested for both his outstanding warrants and with assault and obstruction. The male was transported to the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment and was remanded into custody by a Justice of the Peace.
The male is to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on April 19th for his most recent charges, and will appear in St. Paul Provincial court at a later date for the charges of Unlawfully at Large, for which he had been wanted.
