21-year-old from Frog Lake charged with murder

Elk Point RCMP have charged a man with murder following the death of a man in Frog Lake.

On the night of Tuesday, April 12th, at approximately 9:25 p.m., Elk Point RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on Frog Lake First Nation.

Upon arrival, Emergency Medical Services personnel pronounced 34-year-old, Andrew Abraham, dead at the scene.

Police arrested Derian Tremblay during the early stages of the investigation that same evening, and subsequently, have charged the 21-year-old, Frog Lake First Nation resident with second degree murder.

An autopsy was completed at the Office of the Medical Examiner in Edmonton on Thursday, April 14th, the results of which will be confirmed once the Medical Examiner’s report is finalized.

Tremblay made his first appearance in St. Paul Provincial Court April 14th and was remanded to custody.

RCMP have advised that no additional details will be available regarding the investigation, as the matter is now before the courts.
