Neilburg to get staff for distance learning campus

The Sask DLC says it will begin staffing positions this month at its main office in Kenaston and also nine regional campuses including Neilburg.

In a statement the province’s Distance Learning Corporation adds that course options for students are now available at the new Saskatchewan Distance Learning Corporation website as students and career counsellors begin planning class schedules for the 2023-24 school year.

Sask DLC adds it will offer over 180 online courses for Kindergarten to Grade 12 students, including more than 120 high school courses with electives like animation, astronomy, paleontology, IT fundamentals, equine studies, interior design and decorating among others.

Also, separate school divisions, the Conseil des écoles fransaskoises and independent schools may offer online learning to Kindergarten to Grade 12 students through an application process. The education ministry has an online quality assurance application process and successful applicants will be notified in April.

The course catalogue can be found online and further details are available on the government’s website.
