Kitscoty man charged with possession of stolen property

Kitscoty RCMP arrested a man on April 11, 2023, after receiving a complaint of a suspicious male looking for fuel at a rural residence south of Lloydminster.

A member of the RCMP Crime Reduction Unit was sent to the area and the officer found the male-suspect in the driver’s seat of a vehicle determined to have been stolen from Lloydminster several days prior.

Brandon Heuvel was arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Property over $5000.

Sgt. Corey Buckingham, Kitscoty RCMP Detachment Commander underlines the impact of a call from the community.

“This is yet another great example of a call from a concerned citizen resulting in the apprehension of an individual involved in criminal activity,” says Buckingham.

Following the investigation, Heuvel was released on an Undertaking to return to Lloydminster, Alberta provincial court on May 23.
