Driver charged after being pulled over in stolen vehicle

A 29-year-old resident from Bonnyville is facing charges after being pulled over in a stolen vehicle.

On Wednesday, April 13th, at approximately 10:00 a.m., a Constable with the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment was on patrol in the town of Bonnyville when they observed a vehicle driving without a licence plate.

The officer pulled over the driver and police checks on the vehicle revealed that it was reported stolen the week prior on April 8th.

The driver was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property and Failing to Comply with Conditions. The vehicle was seized and towed to be turned over to the registered owner.

The male has since been released with conditions on court compelling documents. He’s scheduled to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on June 7th for both criminal charges along with a charge of Driving without Insurance under the Traffic Safety Act.
