Spree of vehicle thefts in North Battleford

There has been a spree of vehicle thefts over the past couple of days in North Battleford and surrounding rural areas.
The Battlefords RCMP Detachment has received reports of 12 stolen vehicles, which have all occurred in the last 48 hours. All of the cases involved the driver or owner having left the keys inside the vehicle.
Of the 12 stolen, 11 have been recovered, many of them severely damaged or burned.
Police again remind and encourage the public to lock up their belongings, not to leave items of value laying around, and to remove all keys from inside vehicles.
A black Chevrolet Suburban with Saskatchewan licence plate 318 ISA remains outstanding.
Police have one male youth currently in custody in relation to the thefts. Charges are pending and the investigations are ongoing.
If you have any information regarding the thefts, contact Battlefords RCMP Detachment at 306-446-1720.
