THE GOAT RECEIVES TWO NOMINATIONS FOR CANADIAN MUSIC WEEK 2016

106.1 The Goat has received 2 nominations for the 2016 Canadian Music Week Broadcast Industry Awards.

JD Anderson has been nominated for Program Director of the Year, for a station in a small market. Anderson is the Regional Cluster Program Director for Vista Radio stations in Alberta and North West Territories, including 106.1 The Goat. This is his fourth nomination for this category since 2012.

As well, the station itself, 106.1 The Goat, has received its 15th nomination, and the 10th consecutive nomination, for Small Market Station of the Year: a prize the station has claimed in 2008 and again in 2013.

“A hunger and dedication to excellence is what it comes down to,” says Anderson.  “Our team is second to none. We all have such passion for what we do, for serving this area and we’re never happy to rest on our laurels.  We’ve been fortunate enough to win these awards in the past but we’re always just so honoured to be considered a finalist!  We have the best listeners in the country and get to live in what we consider to be the best place in Canada…  So to be singled out among 7 other stations on a National level will always be very humbling.”

The winners of the Canadian Music Industry Awards are chosen by the combined votes of registered Canadian music industry professionals. So rather than being selected through fan votes or a panel of judges, radio stations and radio industry professionals are chosen by their own peers.

Winners will be announced in Thursday, May 5th, at the Canadian Music Week Industry Awards gala held in Toronto.

The Goat has been recognized on a national level by industry peers with a grand total of 38 nominations since 2002 from the CMW Awards alone.
