City opens up rec facilities free of charge to Fort Mac evacuees

The City of Lloydminster has opened its facilities to Fort McMurray evacuees staying in the area.

Effective immediately, all City recreational facilities will be available to those displaced by the horrific wildfires up north, free of charge, by producing valid Government ID listing their residency in Ft. McMurray and vicinity.

The facilities in town that will be admitting evacuees free of charge include:

• Servus Sports Centre (multi-sport facility) – 5202-12 Street Lloydminster, AB T9V 0W1
• Leisure Centre (indoor swimming pool) – 2902 59 Av, Lloydminster, AB T9V 3H5
• Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre – 4706 54 St, Lloydminster, SK S9V 0S1
• Lloydminster Cultural and Science Centre – Highway 16 East and 45 Avenue Lloydminster, SK

The City advises that the usage of these facilities must be during public times, and golf is available on a drop-in basis (clubs are available on a first-come, first-served basis).
