Bobcats lead anti-bullying efforts on Pink Shirt Day at Jack Kemp

Three of the Lloydminster Bobcats stepped away from the rink on Wednesday to foster inclusion with some fun games with the kids at Jack Kemp School.

The team is already in the playoffs and right-winger Luke Fritz says the team is very happy to be in the schools and giving back to the community on Pink Shirt Day.

“It’s a good cause and it’s something that has come a long way. It’s really helped schools as far as anti-bullying and making everyone feel comfortable.”

A tag game involving a noodle and a chicken were the props involved as everyone had fun and contributed to the laughter and smiles while running around the school gym.

Captain Cayden Cabana and Teague McAllister were the other hockey players joining in the day’s tag game fun.

The Bobcats play their last two regular-season games against the Whitecourt Wolverines on Friday and the Drayton Valley Thunder on Saturday. Both games start at 7 p.m. at the Centennial Civic Centre Arena.

The playoffs will start in mid-March.
