Maidstone RCMP, along with fire services, remain at the scene of a semi-tanker fire, which has now been extinguished. It happened near the intersection of highway 3 and highway 17. The highway is now open, but is down to one lane.
There were no hazardous materials spilled, and no injuries. Crews are currently offloading the semi-tanker and arranging for a tow truck.

The tanker is carrying a half load of crude oil. The location of the fire is about 4 kilometers east of the intersection of highway 3 and highway 17.
Maidstone RCMP says there are no injuries reported at this time, but the highway is currently shutdown in the area of the fire and traffic will no be re-routed.
Motorists should expect delays. RCMP do not know at this time for how long the highway will be shut down. An update will be provided when it has reopened.
