Officers located the two men inside a vehicle and they were arrested without incident. During the search of the vehicle, officers located a sawed-off shotgun, an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, and a variety of ammunition, as well as drugs.

44-year-old, Rod Castor of Fort McMurray and 29-year-old, Tyrone Shirt, of Saddle Lake are each facing 10 charges related to the possession of prohibited weapons and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.

They have both been released from custody. Shirt next court appearance is scheduled for May 26, while Castor’s is scheduled to appear in St. Paul Provincial Court on June 2, 2016.
