No injuries after oil tanker catches fire

Traffic along 67 Street in the north end of the Border City was delayed on Monday afternoon, following the shutdown of the road due to an oil tanker fire.

According to Brad Martin, Deputy Fire Chief with the Lloydminster Fire Department, the semi truck suffered a mechanical malfunction which led to a fire in a brake line. The driver of the vehicle managed to knock down part of the blaze prior to the firefighters arriving on scene, and the damage to the truck was minor, with only one tire burned off.

The vehicle was later towed from the area. No injuries were reported from the incident.
