City implements new lane configuration on 36 Street

The City of Lloydminster has announced new lane configuration changes to 36 Street in town in order to improve the traffic flow.

Particularly, the changes aim to improve the flow of traffic at 2 intersections: 36 & 52 Avenue and 36 & 57 Avenue.

At 36 & 52, the westbound lane of the intersection will now consist of a through/right-turn lane and a dedicated left-turning lane.

At 36 & 57, the two eastbound lanes will be changed to provide a dedicated left-turning lane, and a dedicated right-turn lane. The one westbound lane of the intersection will be altered to provide a through lane/right-turning lane and a lane exclusively for left turns.

The City is going to be modifying the pavement markings and signage, with work expected to be completed by June 20.

This new lane configuration is a part of the Engineering Services department’s annual line-painting program.
