Police identify bar robbery suspect

The Kitscoty RCMP have released the names of two suspects in the robbery of the Wheatfield Inn Bar last week.

The incident took place after a male entered the bar through the back door on June 14, sitting briefly at a VLT machine before going up to the bar to ask for change.

When the bartender opened the cash register, the man produced a can of bear spray and demanded the money from the till.

A struggle ensued resulting the bartender getting sprayed in the face.

The suspect fled the bar with an undisclosed amount of cash and was seen driving away from the scene in a white SUV with Saskatchewan plates.

On Wednesday, the police thanked the public for their assistance in helping to identify the male, who has been named by the Kitscoty RCMP as 47 year old Fabian David Brady. Brady is now wanted for one count of armed robbery, two counts of assault with a weapon, and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose in relation to the incident.

His whereabouts are currently unknown but he is believed to have ties to the Elk Point, Edmonton and Saskatoon areas.

The Kitscoty RCMP also said they would like to speak with a person of interest in the investigation, who is believed to be traveling with Brady, Jodie Pechawis.  Police said Brady is believed to be travelling in a Grey 2007 Saturn Outlook with a Saskatchewan licence plate of 286KEU.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Brady is asked to contact the Kitscoty RCMP or the police department of jurisdiction.
