The ongoing Canada Revenue Agency scam continues to circulate throughout the Bonnyville area.
A number of citizens have reported receiving calls from fraudsters claiming to represent the Canada Revenue Agency and telling them that they owe money to the CRA, and if they don’t pay it, they will be arrested
The Canada Revenue Agency denounced the scam months ago, and clarified that the Agency primarily contacts people via mail.
The RCMP is also reminding citizens that the CRA does not send the police to arrest people and don’t issue arrest warrants themselves. As well, the Agency does not accept payment in the form of iTunes giftcards.
