Vegreville RCMP seize drugs and weapons

Two people have been arrested by the Vegreville RCMP in a traffic stop, found to be in possession of a significant quantity of drugs, weapons, and cash.

On Monday, August 22, 2016, a member of the Vegreville RCMP observed a vehicle speeding on Highway 16 and pulled the driver over.

In a search of the vehicle, approximately 190 grams of cocaine was seized, with a street value of $25,000. Officers also seized a small quantity of marijuana, weapons, cash, and two cell phones.

28-year-old, Sheena Gilbey, of Provost faces charges of Possession of Cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, Possession of Marijuana, and two charges of Possession of a Weapon dangerous to the public.

28-year-old, Henry Jamieson, also from Provost, is facing similar charges including Possession of Cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and Possession of Marijuana.

Jamieson and Gilbey have been released on cash bail with several conditions and are due back in Vegreville Provincial Court September 19, 2016.
