Caliph of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to visit Lloydminster

The Border City will be getting an important visitor in November.

As part of his Canada-wide tour, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will be making a stop in Lloydminster  in November. Ahmad, who is entitled as the Caliph, will be visiting the newly-renovated mosque of the community in Lloydminster, which was purchased in 2016 by the local Ahmadiyya chapter.

The new worship space, located along 50 Street, is known as the Baitul Amaan Mosque

According to Tariq Azeem, the imam of the local chapter, the visit is a great honour for Ahmadiyya community in Lloydminster.

“His Holiness aims to guide everyone on how the basic value of justice taught in the Holy Quran is essential for success,” said Azeem, in a written statement.

“He has delivered speeches on how we can tackle present day challenges, for example ISIS and radicalization. He is a true promoter of peace and aims to spread love and harmony around the world.”

An inauguration luncheon will be held for the new mosque on Sunday, November 6 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in the Prairie Room of the Lloydminster Exhibition Grounds, and the caliph will be in the city for a day and a half.
