One in four Canadians has either stayed at a Ronald McDonald House or know someone who has. The Alberta RMHC notes on its website that 848 families stayed with them last year and annually they save families over six million dollars.
Wednesday September 22nd, it’s McHappy Day across the country including in Lloydminster.
Residents can buy anything on the menu at McDonald’s with a portion going to support families with sick kids as well as local children’s charities.
The tradition dates back to 1977 supporting numerous families across Canada by giving them a place to stay together, as their sick child is getting medical treatment.
Patrons also can round up their order with the extra change going to RMHC.
Online donations are also accepted by visiting the RMHC website.
