City Council has decided to award grants to a number of non-profit organizations in Lloydminster, as recommended by the Community Grant Society. Council allocated over $430,000 through the 2015 Family and Community Support Services Grant. Organizations include Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Community Youth Centre, and the Sexual Assault and Information Centre, among many more. Councillor Larry Sauer says that this round of funding comes from Alberta, and the total amount has not increased in the last 5 years. He adds that each organization is thoroughly reviewed before funding is awarded.
